A lot of us are on a fixed income and with prices going up such as ie. food we are hard pressed to contribute more. When social security recipients get a raise it is for cost of living, only perhaps a 1-2 % increase not a 4 to 7 % increase for property taxes for schools, homeowners insurance, utility increases, medical cost. Are you aware that food prices are not figured in the index government uses to determine increases. I would like to know how much the average retirement income is for teachers; compare that to a person that has only social security. I say trim the fat. If the new normal means that school buildings will not have as many students at the physical locations close some and do not invest money unnecessarily. On another note I listened to Governor Beshear say the reason Ky. is having problems with system that pays unemployment it is because he inherited this problem, please remind him the problem just wasn't because of Bevin, his father could have fixed the problem and also the pension problems that were ignored by many democratic governors. I would also like to better understand something. Lets say that we use the numbers of covid 19 recovered and the number that died. If we add the deaths to those recovered and then divide by the number by those that died then we get a figure that says about 1 out of 8 or 9 people die.
